Fannie Lee Hipps Ledford, 84, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at a Chattanooga health care facility. She retired from A & R Knitting. Fannie loved her family and enjoyed cooking for family and friends and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sammy Lee Shelton and Edna Mae Wilson Shelton; husband, Coy Ledford; brothers, Jack Shelton and Zeak Shelton; and sister, Barbara McCormick.
Survivors include her children, Ethel Jones of Charleston, Jeff (Kathy Lynn) Hipps, Gary (Michelle) Hipps, all of Cleveland and Darlene (David) Ownby of Athens; 8 grandchildren, Sgt. Alex Jones of Augusta, GA, Timmy Bonine and Tony (Jessica) Ownby , both of Athens, Casey Hipps and Coby (Sara) Hipps, all of New Mexico and Alexis Hipps, Haley McDowell and Cameron Hipps, all of Cleveland; 14 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Burn of Calhoun and Edith Bates and Claudia Heddan, both of Cleveland; two brothers, Edd (Joanie) Shelton and James (Linda) Shelton, Jr., all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
