Hubert Lonnie Conley, Jr., 49, lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 in Pensacola, Florida. Hubert graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1989. He received his Bachelor’s degree in business operations from Tennessee Technological University in 1994. Hubert was employed by Monty’s Fertilizer. He was an avid farmer on his family’s farm.
He was a beloved softball coach for many years for the Tennessee Heat travel team. He served as assistant coach at Bradley Central High School and most recently at Lake Forest Middle School. Hubert was loved on and off the field and led his teams with Christian values and loved his players and their families as if they were his own. Hubert was a devoted father to Summer and Trevor and a cherished husband to Leslie. Hubert dedicated his free time to coaching and mentoring in girl’s softball. He was a devoted son and worked tirelessly with his parents on their farm. He found time to always check in on his family and friends, talking to them every day. He touched so many lives and will be missed by many in our community.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Dean and Ina Bell Conley, maternal grandparents, C.L. and Minnie Beaty; step grandmother, Lois Beaty; father-in-law, Harold Robertson; and cousin, Justin Fowler.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Conley of Cleveland; children, Summer Conley and Trevor Conley; parents, Hubert L. Conley, Sr. and Beverly Beaty Conley; uncles, David (Von) Conley, Herbert (Pricilla) Conley, and Lebron (Karen) Conley; aunt, Charlotte Shugart; cousins, David Conley, Jr., Alisa Fowler, Amy Moore, Allison Conley, Brandon Conley, Cory Shugart and Cooksey Shugart; sister-in-law, Beth (Travis) Carlisle; niece, Bailey Carlisle; and mother-in-law, Lois Robertson.
The funeral will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Paul, Pastor Barry Fowler, and Bailey Rogers officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Flint Springs Cemetery with Jason Campbell, David Conley, Jr., Elliott Davenport, Travis Carlisle, David Chase and Eric Ratcliff serving as pallbearers. Glenn Schroeder, John Beaty, Andrew Morgan, Brad Montgomery and Jamie Fox will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Due to the current government restrictions the service will be live-streamed on Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home's Facebook page. The church is also requesting that everyone attending the visitation/service to please where a mask and to observe social distancing.
His family will receive friends from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the service.
