James "Jim" Goins

James E “Jim” Goins, 92, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 after a short illness. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. He worked at Cleveland Chair Company for over 40 years. He loved woodworking, blacksmithing and working in his yard and garden.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ann, his parents, Arlin and Delia Copeland Goins, five brothers R.D., Carlos, J.C., Ivan, and Franklin Goins and one sister Marie Tatum.

Survivors include his Son Charles Edward “Eddie” Goins and wife Darlene of Charleston; grandchildren, John Goins and wife Christy, Jeremy Goins and wife Tabitha and Gayle Cross and husband Greg, all of Charleston; four great grandchildren, Kayla Cross and fiance’ Bryce Witt, Jake Cross, Mallory Goins and Molly Goins, and several nieces and nephews.
