Janice Elizabeth Kersey (aged 75) left to be with her Heavenly Father on December 14th, 2022 while surrounded by her family. A lifetime citizen of Cleveland, TN, she was a member of Tasso United Methodist Church, and was a 1965 graduate of Bradley Central High School, and a 1966 graduate of Edmondson’s Business College. She was retired from the North Lee Elementary Cafeteria. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Joyce Womack. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George (John) Kersey, her son, Greg Kersey and wife, Angela, her daughter, Tammy Ledford and husband Clint, her daughter, Melanie Kersey, and her sister, Elaine Hyde. In addition, she is survived by her grandson, Devin Kersey, granddaughter, Shelby Kersey, and fiancé, Austin Couts, and granddaughter, Chloe Ledford and fiancé, Brooks Jackson. She will also be greatly missed by her cats, Minnie and Yellow, as well as her loyal grand-dogs: Bindi, Bruce, Dansby, Maverick, and Zimmer. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16th, from 4-7 pm at Fike Randolph & Son Funeral Home, followed by her celebration of life service at 7 pm. Her son-in-law, Pastor Clint Ledford, Reverend Mike Cutshaw, and Reverend Joe Ratledge officiating. Graveside service and interment will take place at Chestuee Cemetery on Saturday, December 17th, at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers include Devin Kersey, Bob Tyree, Buford Horton, Austin Couts, Jerry Johnson Jr, and Wade Ledford. Honorary Pallbearers include, Brooks Jackson and the Ledford Sunday School Class at Tasso United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the 3rd-floor nurses and Patient Care Techs from Tennova hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care.
