Joann Therese Davis

Joann Davis of Cleveland, Tennessee & Lake Suzy, Florida passed away peacefully at her Garden Plaza home on April 2, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1940, Joann was the oldest of 5 children and graduated from St. Stephens High School in 1958. She worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone company. Later as a wife and mother, she ran a Judo studio.

In 1972 Joann & husband Gary moved with their 2 daughters to Miami, Florida where she was a Girl Scout Leader, and an office manager for a chiropractic practice.

Moving to Cleveland, TN in 1979 she helped her in-laws O.D. & Virginia Davis relocate their fledgling chocolate candy business from their home to a shop in the Village Mall. The Davis Chocolate Pot successfully operated as a family business until the mid-1990s.

A cancer survivor, Joann enjoyed her role as a Realtor by opening the Century 21 All-Stars office in Cleveland, TN. She particularly loved assisting first-time buyers achieve their dream of home ownership.

In her retirement she relocated to Lake Suzy, Florida where she enjoyed friends, the pool, the beaches, and the area’s famous mineral springs.

Joann is survived by daughter Sharon Davis Silvers (Scott) of Cleveland, TN; daughter Linda P. Davis (Trey) of Nashville, TN; grandson Austin Silvers (Mishon) of Old Fort, TN; grandson Kevin Silvers (Elizabeth) of Cleveland, TN; granddaughter Anna Silvers of Fort Worth, TX; two great-grandsons; sisters Janet Nachman, Anni Lipowski, & Michele Kirkpatrick of the Cleveland, Ohio area; brother John Goromboly of Little Rock, AR; nieces & nephews, and many, many friends.

A life celebration visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th from 10:30 am until 1 pm at Poole Funeral Home at Fike Chapel, 2415 N. Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311
