Joe Ben Chase

Joe Ben Chase, 91, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at a local hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II.  Joe retired from the Chrysler Corporation.  He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gilda Delores Bryant Chase; parents, Joel Harvey Chase and Myrtle Marie Faulkner Chase, sisters, Mattie Lou Williams and Faye Eldridge; brothers, Franklin Chase, Robert Chase and Thomas Chase; and grandchildren David Kincaid and Kyle Rye.

Survivors include his children, Linda (Jim) Shantz of Fenton, MI, Joanna (Stephen) Sparks of Cleveland and Debra (Dan) Rye of Northville, MI; six grandchildren, Troy (Linda) Kincaid of Hartland, MI, Lisa (Robert) Kennedy of Howell, MI, James Shantz, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephen (Kristyn) Sparks of Erie, MI, Melissa (David) Napierala of Toledo, OH and Whitney Rye of Northville, MI; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Ollie (Jack) Hall; brother, Tony Chase; and several nieces and nephews. 

The service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen Sparks officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. 

His family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
