Mable Kay Lemons Hensley, 83, of Cleveland and formerly of Ten Mile, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in a local hospital. As a child she worked on the family farm. In later years Mable was employed by Bishop Bakery, Kirby Denim Factory and for 15 years as a housekeeper at Life Care of Cleveland. Mable was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Unity Church of God and Community Hall Church. She was always excited about going to church and her favorite hymn was “Ain’t No Grave.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lottie Phillips Lemons; husband, Lee Hensley; sister, Grace Lemons; and two brothers, Edgar and Joe Lemons.
Survivors include her brother, Junior Lemons; and two special friends, Frances Flowers and Emma Jo Hicks.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at New Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverend Lowell Hicks, the Reverend David Rose and the Reverend Jeannie Cissom officiating.
