Margie Jane Cross

Margie Jane Cross, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday morning, June 15, 2023 at the family residence. Mrs. Cross was the daughter of the late Dollie Emerson Stephenson and Charles Stephenson. Her husband, of 46 years, Wallace McKinley Cross Jr., brothers, Ben Stephenson and William Stephenson; her sisters, Lucille Morgan, Betty Moses and her half brothers, Frank, Melford and Virgil Stephenson also preceded her in death. Margie was a very God-fearing woman, she was a lifetime member and attended Cohulla Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother, she lived for family.

 Survivors include two daughters: Annette Melinda Watson (Jeff) and Sheila Elaine Thompson (Dane), both of Cleveland; one son, Wallace McKinley “Kenny” Cross III (Lorena) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, June 19, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. from the Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with family serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M. prior to the Life Service at the Fike Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
