Nancy Ann Sneed

September 22, 1941 — December 19, 2020

Nancy Ann Sneed, 79, left her Earthly body on December 19th, 2020 at her home.  She was a devoted wife and mother who will be missed more than she could ever know.  She graduated from Charleston High School in 1960.  Born and raised in Charleston, TN by her parents Dewey and Leona Stansberry, met a boy, William Sneed, Jr, and fell in love while working at Sugar and Spice in Cleveland, TN. They were married 59 years in November. During their 59 years of marriage, along came 3 amazing, loving children, their spouses, and 3 grandchildren that were so loved by her.  Anyone that knew Nancy knew how much she loved sewing and creating different crafts.  Her rabbits that she made were sold even in Singapore!  Nancy loved to garden and had an amazing knack of taking care of her rosebushes.  Nancy was everything a wife and mother should be.  Nancy was a survivor.  She was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and went into remission a little bit later.  Her family felt that something else was going wrong a few years later.  Nancy was diagnosed with Dementia in 2015. Dementia is one of the worst diseases that you could ever watch someone, especially family, go through.  William took such great care of her because she spent so many days of her life taking care of him.  He took her to eat Mexican, that’s what she loved, and out sight-seeing in the mountains.  Nancy loved her church, New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a member there.  When there was food to be fixed, she was always there with her famous hot rolls and beef roast that you could smell over a mile away!  No one could ever deny that Nancy was a fantastic cook. As the last stage of Dementia quickly progressed, the family called upon Hospice of Chattanooga to help with some of the daily activities that got harder on the family to help with.  They are some of the kindest people and took great care of her while she was in their care.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Leona Stansberry along with her sisters: Evelyn Burris, Ruby Thomas, and Barbara Burris.  Her brothers Lee Stansberry, Gene Stansberry, JD Stansberry, Thomas Stansberry, Bob Stansberry, and Kenneth Stansberry.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years William Sneed, Jr; children Darryl (Tammy) Sneed, Kelly (Steve) Brackin, and April (Cavin) Parrish; grandchildren Ross Sneed, Sarah Belle Brewer, and Sheena Renee  Ledesma; her beloved dog Mitzi; brother Donnie Stansberry; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Elder John W. Robbins and Elder John E. Robbins officiating.  Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Ross Sneed, Tom Ownby, Steven Suttles, Ricky Green, Kirk Messer, and Tony Caywood serving as pallbears.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.
