Nell Mackey of Cleveland, born in McMinn County, age 94, passed away at a local assisted living facility Sunday, December 11, 2022. She attended Cleveland State Community College and Lee University. She was involved in numerous civic organizations. Nell spent many years with the Charleston Methodist Church and in the last number of years was a member of Bellefonte Baptist Church. Nell had a long career with the Tennessee Department of Employment Security and was a manager when she retired. She is proceeded in death by her husband, of 64 years, Theodore Mackey; father, Fred Cannon and Dorothy Medlin Cannon; brothers, Carl Cannon, Clarence Cannon, Raymond Cannon, Dr. Calvin Cannon; sisters, Grace Womack, and Mae Logan. Survived by her daughter, Connie (John) Marks; and sister, Hazel Johnson; Grandchildren, Maegan Marks, Amy Marks, Christopher (Kathryn) Kelly; Great grandchildren, Collin Kelly, Claire Kelly, Caleb Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be conducted on December 16, 2022 at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Fike Randolph & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. December 16, 2022 at the funeral home. Family will have a private interment.
