Nellie Ruth Longwith

Nellie Ruth Harbuck Smith Longwith, 102, of Cleveland passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at Morningside assisted living facility. She was born in Catoosa County, GA on December 28, 1919 to the late Little Walter and Donna Stewart Harbuck.

She had lived in Cleveland for the past twenty years and was a member of Wesleyan Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, gardening, her flowers and family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, L.D. Smith; late husband, Marvin Longwith; sisters, Willie Mae Tankersly, and Fannie Hanes; brothers, Thomas (Roy) Harbuck, and Walter Harbuck; and grandson, Randal Barefield.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Marjorie Barefield; sons: Doyle Smith, Clarence Smith, and Lamar Smith; granddaughters: Kathy Jo Murphy, Beth Harris, and Kimbley Hewitt (Kevin); grandsons, Jody Smith (Dana) , and Ricky Barefield (Angie); great granddaughters: Jennifer Harris, Taylor Rae Harris, Kayla Smith, Keri Miles (Robbie), Hailey Hewitt, and Brittany Barefield; great grandsons: Cody Barefield, Cody Smith, Micah Murphy (Skylar), and Christopher Barefield; and eight great-great grand children.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Believers Baptist Church Cemetery in Catoosa County, GA with Ricky Barefield, Jody Smith, Kevin Hewitt, Cody Smith, Kevin Hudson, Doyle Smith, and Clarence Smith serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
