Patricia R. Blackwell

Patricia R. Blackwell, 81, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.   She was a parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church where she was a former member of the choir.  She held various leadership roles in the church R.C.I.A. program, and the Serra Club of Chattanooga.  In the Catholic Daughters of America, she was honored to be the daughter of the year. She was also involved with Women of Faith and had a clown ministry.  Being a daughter of a military family, she was involved in Overseas Brats.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Raymond Riley and Irene Meadows Skinner, her son, William W. Blackwell III, and a brother, John Skinner.   She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Woody Blackwell of Cleveland; two children: daughter, Teri Blackwell of Charlotte, North Carolina, and son, Robert Blackwell of Columbia South Carolina; one brother, Don Skinner of Peoria, Illinois; neice, Rebecca Zhang of Fairfax, Virginia; and sisters-in-law: Carolyn Hiott and Virginia Wray, both of Columbia, South Carolina.   A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2020, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Creson presiding.  Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.   Her family will receive friends Sunday, February 9, 2020, 3 – 5 p.m. at Fike Randolph & Son Funeral Home concluding with the Rosary.   The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 900 Clingan Ridge Drive NW, Cleveland TN 37312 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959.   We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Blackwell family guestbook at www.fikefh.com.
