Ralph L. Castelow

Ralph L. Castelow, 74, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at a local hospital with his family present.  He was a member of Local 226 Painters Union of Chattanooga and held various offices, including Business Agent and President.  After retiring he worked with his daughter-in-law at Mullinax Lincoln Automotive and enjoyed working with all the customers.   He was of the Methodist faith.  Ralph helped raise and care for his grandchildren and great grandchild.  His role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather were his proudest accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Castelow and Nell Guffey Castelow; and siblings, Bill Castelow, Jerry Castelow, Shirley Yarbrough and Henrietta Forrester.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jackie Ownbey Castelow; sister, Ruth Ann (Ralph) Burchfield; son, Shane (Cindy) Castelow; daughter, Kristy (Madison “Matt”) Trewhitt; grandchildren Ryan (Nikki Randolph) Castelow-Hughes, Kelsey Hughes and Katie Hughes; great grandson, Gunner Finley Castelow; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jerry and Diane Mason and Hoyt and Carolyn Stokes.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike James officiating. Jerry Mason, Randy Rapier, Ray Cox, Brian Dixon, Matt Trewhitt and Dean Cox will serve as pallbearers.

His family would like for memorials to be sent to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Ocoee Region, 385 3rd Street SW, Cleveland, TN 37311.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tennova Healthcare for their outstanding care, kindness and compassion, including Dr. Ahmad Ibrahimbacha and Dr. James Marcum.
