Pastor William “Bill” C. Beaty, 91, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 17, 1929 to the late Leonard and Lottie Wooden Beaty.
In his early years he accepted the Lord and was called to preach. To be closer to the Lord and to have a quiet place to study, Bill would go to his grandparent’s country home in the Bigsby Creek area where he studied the word and was given the gift of quoting scripture.
Pastoring in his earlier years, with his beloved wife, Delores and their six children they traveled many miles and late nights working for the Lord they loved so deeply. Bill pastored Charleston Church of God, Benton Church of God and Evening Light Gospel Tabernacle (twenty plus years). His last church to serve was Eagles Chapel Church of God. He also attended Mountain View Church of God.
Bill worked at Magic Chef; had a sign business; and also ran the Wildwood Restaurant. He was blessed with many friends and never met a stranger. He loved and appreciated them all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Delores Ingram Beaty; daughter, Connie Beaty Bell Forriester; granddaughter, Angie Prince Waters; and brothers, Bob Beaty and Rudy Beaty.
Survivors include his children, Clinton (Linda) Beaty, Donna Prince, Ricky Beaty, Jerri Williams and Misty (Tracy) Sewell; daughter-in-law, Theresa Lowe Beaty; five granddaughters, Wendy (Jon) Perry, Tambra (Mark) Ratledge, Stephanie (Sam) Sewell, Tara (Joey) Scott and Deestiney Beaty; great grandchildren, Steven Waters, Gage Matott, Gavin Sewell, Halia and Makia Ratledge, Haden and Ethan Perry, and Seth and Sierra Scott; sisters, Tean Matthews and Brenda (Garnett) Hall; several nieces and nephews; and very special people in his life, Mae Bottoms, Paul Sigler, Wendell Trammell and Arley Green.
The service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Gage Matott, Gavin Sewell, Joey Scott, Zach Reagan, Wendell Trammell, Paul Sigler, and Kenny Scott serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
