Shirley Arlene Kirtland

Shirley Arlene Kirtland, 83, of Cleveland passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Tabernacle. Arlene loved working with flowers, making flower arrangements and crafts. She enjoyed sitting and watching humming birds. She loved most of all taking care of her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Chester Kirtland; parents, Odell and Alma Nix Parrish; granddaughter, Samantha Kirtland; great grandson, Bryson Sneed; son-in-law, Dennis Cartwright; and siblings, Cassie Self and David Parrish.

Survivors include her children: Brenda Darlene Davis (Dennis) of Old Fort, Diane Cartwright of Cleveland, Linda Britain (Forest) of Cleveland, Chester Kirtland, Jr. (Melinda) of Middle, TN, and Mack Kirtland of Cleveland; nine grandchildren: Burt Davis, Denise Benton (David), Tony Beavers, Stephanie Sneed, Becky Britain, Danika Britain, Nina McGee (Adam), Miranda Scott (Isaac), and Sam Blankenship (Amy); fourteen great grandchildren; sisters: Jo Carlton, Claudel Taylor, Ophelia Kidd, Morene Bunch, and Wanda Henderson; brothers, Benny Parrish and Mastin Parrish; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Tabernacle with Pastor Sam Blankenship officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Burt Davis, Isaac Scott, David Benton, Zachery Lowe, Thomas Bottoms and Tommy Bottoms serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 8:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
