Stephen R. Finnell

Stephen R. Finnell, 68, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Steve was born to the late Rufus W. Finnell and Geneva Osment Finnell on August 7, 1951.  Steve grew up in South Bradley County, working the dairy farm with his father then following in his footsteps to become a building contractor, well known in the Cleveland area.  Steve later founded and operated Affordable Heating and Air, a successful HVAC business, for 30 plus years.  Steve will be remembered by all who knew him for his ability to tell a good story, his joyous spirit, his love for all things aviation and his true love for the Lord.  Steve was happiest fellowshipping with his family and spending time on the family farm.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 46 years Nancy Mastin Finnell; children Beth (Stuart) McConnell of Dandridge, Lisa (Matt) Carmen of Athens; Travis (Brandy) Finnell of Cleveland, and Tanner (Nicole) Finnell of Cleveland; grandchildren Morgan (Chris) Copeland Veney of Calhoun, Cody Copeland of Calhoun, Leah, Lily, Luke, Levi, Maggie, and Emily all of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Waylon Veney and Cade Copeland of Calhoun;  beloved sister, Carolyn Stafford and her son Gregg Stafford of Cleveland; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Nathan (Betsy) Mastin of Hamilton, AL, Zenas (Connie) Mastin of Dalton, GA, Cheryl (Danny) Jones of Dalton, GA, and Tena Ford of Kansas City, MI; nieces and nephews, Thomas Mastin of Tupelo, MS, and MacKenzie Mastin of Dalton.

A private family memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 in the chapel of Fike- Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Guinn Green officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
