Sylvia E. Wallace

Sylvia Wallace, 93 of Crystal River, FL passed away peacefully Tuesday March 18, 2025 at Diamond Ridge Health and Rehab Center while under the care of HPH Hospice in Lecanto, FL. 

Sylvia was born July 6, 1931 in Cleveland, TN a daughter to Essie Mae Johnston. She came to Crystal River with her husband the late Hobert Wallace who preceded her in death in 1993. Sylvia was a retired nurse’s aide and substitute teacher with Citrus County Schools. Sylvia was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Crystal River. She served as a greeter there and volunteered with the food ministry. 

She is survived by her sons Kerry Crawford (Angie) and David Wallace (Susie), grandchildren Erin Fabian (Andrew), Zach Crawford (Chelsea), Montana Wallace and Michaela Wallace, great grandchildren Kaylo and Landry. 

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 24th at the First Baptist Church of Crystal River, 700 N Citrus Avenue, Crystal River, FL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Church.  In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to First Baptist Church of Crystal River. Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal River, FL.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 28th from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Fike Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
