Tammy Lynn Matthews

Tammy Lynn Matthews, 49, of Suffolk, Virginia and a former resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at a hospital in Virginia. She was born on April 20, 1972 in Savannah, Georgia to Arlene J. Jones and the late John W. Jones. Tammy was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Chesapeake. She was a loving and caring Air Force wife for over 29 years; she was always prepared and equipped to handle anything on the home front at a moment’s notice. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Christopher Matthews.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband, Paul E. Matthews, Jr.; daughter, Courtney E. Matthews; son, Joshua C. Matthews; sister, Lisa Davis and her husband, Rodney; brothers: Richard Jones and his wife, Beth and Johnny Jones and his wife, Konnie; her father and mother-in-law, Paul and Janice Matthews; brother-in-law, David Matthews and his wife, Elicia; sister-in-law, Ashlee McCoy; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. Due to the rising COVID numbers, the family has requested that guests wear mask and practice social distancing. Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
