Virginia E. Thomason Moorhouse, 80, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her home. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and sang in the choir. At one time she played the piano, organ and guitar while attending the First Baptist Church in Benton.
She was a devoted wife and the matriarch of the family. Virginia enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and hosted beautiful seasonal gatherings after she retired from Johns Manville. Virginia traveled to London and across the United Kingdom with her family and enjoyed many unique life experiences. She was also known as the “Project Queen” and always had several going at one time. Virginia was a kidney transplant recipient 17 1/2 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty plus years, William J. Moorhouse, Jr.; parents, Richard Young Thomason and Helen Luscavitch Thomason; brother, Buddy Thomason; and sisters, Jewell Harris and Frances Thomason.
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Lorello (Mark) of Cleveland; grandchildren: Mena Golden (Talon) of Benton and Sarah Choat (Mark Blaylock) and Kathryn Alhindi both of Cleveland; great grandchildren: Aeris Golden, Soriah Golden, Braedon Choat, and Kaden Choat; sister, Hattie Milen; brothers, Roy Thomason, John Thomason, Lige Thomason, Neil Thomason and Steve Thomason; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Old Ocoee Cemetery with the Reverend Nolan Phillips officiating.
